The BSU House is open daily and offers weekly worship, intramural teams, student-led Bible studies, a place to study, fellowship, dances, and spring-break and after-school mission opportunities. The union also offers a choir, community service, kitchen facilities, piano, pool table, outdoor activities, leadership opportunities, and outreach in the name of Christ.

The Church of Christ Student Center is an effort of the Sylva Church of Christ to reach the students of WCU with the message of Christ. Bus service to the Sylva Church of Christ and weekly fellowship activities give students an opportunity for spiritual nourishment. Sylva Church of Christ services:

TheLutheran Student Ministry meets every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the Cullowhee Presbyterian Church for a meal, fellowship, worship, study, and prayer. The ministry also offers service events in the community, off-campus activities, and occasional retreats.

Mt. Zion AME Zion (located next to the university) is a place where a student's faith, ministry, and love of the Lord Jesus can grow and be shared with others. Regular events and services include:
• Sunday mornings—Sunday school at 9:45, morning worship at 11
• Every third Sunday—youth and young adults take charge of morning worship
• Every fourth Sunday—free "Breaking of Bread Sunday" dinner provided after service for all attendees
• Mondays—5:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. prayer at the church (We also fast from 5:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.)
Other events and activities include:
• Children's church—takes place during morning worship (The Word is given in a way children can understand.)

The Sylvan Hearth Pagan Temple is a legally incorporated Pagan church that provides fellowship and worship, pastoral counseling, workshops, rituals such as handfastings (legal weddings; the church also supports gay marriage) and rites of passage, Initiation for those properly prepared and trained, volunteer/charitable/environmental activities, and mediation/advocacy in cases of religious discrimination or harassment. The Pagan Temple is for anyone who identifies as a "Pagan".
The Sylvan Hearth Pagan Temple sponsors the Pagan Student Association at WCU and provides their campus ministry, as well as sponsoring the Sylvan Spiralscouts, a scouting program for Pagan children. Additionally, the Pagan Temple is a Safe Zone for gay, lesbian, bi and transgendered people, and is involved in environmental and charitable activities.
United Methodist Campus Ministry
The Wesley Foundation is the United Methodist Student group at Western Carolina University, and has served students over the last 50 years by providing a nurturing community where Christians can grow in their relationship with God and with each other.
