The Base Camp Climbing wall offers 2100 square feet of climbing surface and is 50ft tall. There are routes designed for the first time climber as well as the serious climber looking for a workout. In addition to rope climbing on the tall part of the wall, there is also a bouldering arch ideal for working on technique without the hassle of waiting for a belay.

Getting Started at the Climbing Wall is Easy, Follow These Steps...

1. Check In. Stop at the front desk and sign your paperwork. Once you are in the system, we can just look you up in the database.

2. Exchange Cat Card for Climbing Gear. The basic equpment is free, other stuff requires a small fee. You will also be given a climbing card to display while you are at the wall.

3. Find a Belayer According to your Card Color. Either staff or other students. Staff are available to help with putting on harnesses and choosing the best route.

4. Get on the wall. Now its time to climb! Challenge yourself to do more than you ever thought was possible.

Color Codes

Red Card. You must have a staff person belay you.

Yellow Card. Passed the belay test and can belay other yellow cards. Free classes available to learn how.

Green Card. Coming soon, able to lead climb on the wall. Free classes will be available.

Kids Climb

Bring your kids on Friday evenings fro 6-8pm to enjoy the climbing wall. Kids climb is designed for all children of students, faculty, and staff. (children must be greater than 40lbs). A parent or guardian must be present.

Cost per Child:
$5 with CRC Pass Holder Adult
$10 with non-CRC Pass Holder Adult

All climbing equipment is provided at no additional fee.
