Search journals
Use the ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) database to search for journal articles that report “action research” for your subject area. To search, use the term “action research,” together with a term that represents your subject area. Put the word “and” between your search terms.
Example: “action research” and mathematics

In the “Limit your Results” section of the search screen, limit your results to the “Publication Type” Reports (All).

Browse journals in print and online
If you know the title of the journal you are looking for, you can search the library catalog by journal name. Here are some selected examples of journals, which are linked to catalog records:
English Journal (1912-present) Explores important issues in the teaching of secondary language arts and literature. Peer reviewed.
Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy (1996-present, with a 12-month full text delay) - A forum for the literacy & language arts education of older learners. Goals are to encourage innovative ways of teaching and studying literacy and to address problems faced by educators. Peer reviewed.
Language Arts (1997-present) Discussions on all aspects of language arts learning and teaching, as they relate to children in pre-kindergarten through the eighth grade. Articles discuss theory and practice, feature current research, and review children's and adolescent literature, as well as classroom and professional resources of interest to language arts educators. Reading Teacher (1990-present) Discusses important issues and research on the teaching of reading and other language arts (whether whole language or phonics), primarily at the pre- and primary-school levels. Peer reviewed.
