FEEd features 50- to 75-minute interactive workshops and poster presentations designed to foster communication and collaborative discussions among faculty, staff, students and community members.
Workshop and presentation topics include interdisciplinary collaboration, self-reflective student journals, preparing graduate students to teach, educational software and technology, academic integrity, piloting the university's Quality Enhancement Plan, campus partnerships, using service learning to develop student professionalism, student support services, sustainable initiatives, health and wellness, and online team teaching.
The keynote address at 12:15 p.m. in the UC Theater will be delivered by 2008 Integration of Learning Award recipients, who developed the project “The Spanish House: A Living and Learning Experience.”
FEEd is an initiative of the Coulter Faculty Center’s “Learning Reconsidered” faculty learning community, which aims to highlight faculty and staff efforts to integrate academic learning and student development; to provide a vehicle for developing communication among academic and student service departments; to showcase collaborative efforts that are already happening at Western; and to enrich faculty and staff’s day-to-day efforts by focusing on topics that affect advising, research, teaching and learning.
