Getting Started

Here are a number of websites that are helpful to explore educational issues:  http://www.wcu.edu/4944.asp.

To locate relevant professional organizations, visit the Education Resource Organizations Resource Directory:  http://wdcrobcolp01.ed.gov/Programs/EROD/.

Finding Articles:

ERIC is always an important resource for locating the best articles related to education:  http://www.wcu.edu/1602.asp (scroll down); or, link to ERIC from the Hunter Library webpage using the database list.

The following tips will help with ERIC:

  • Use the thesaurus (linked in the upper left corner) to locate the terms used by the database to index articles.
  • Put all phrases in quotes.
  • Use Boolean searching to link your keywords.
