How Financial Aid will be applied to my account
The WCU Controller's Office produces bills for registered students during early July. If a student has been awarded financial aid, all awards accepted by the student, except for Work-Study, will be considered as a source of funds that will cover the balance. The bill will list all university charges and estimated credits (expected financial aid) and only ask the student to pay any balance not covered by the estimated aid. The fee bill, and any money due after financial aid awards have been considered, must be returned to the Controller's Office by the payment deadline indicated on the bill to avoid having classes cancelled.
Payment Plans
WCU has two additional options for students, and families, who are not participating in financial aid programs but need some assistance in paying school charges.
- The university has an arrangement with Tuiton Pay that allows families to pay for university charges in 10 monthly installments. The only added cost is a $55 enrollment fee. The first monthly installment is made in July, preceding the start of school in August. For more information, check out http://www.tuitionpay.com/.
- University charges can also be paid online via electronic check or by using the following credit cards: Mastercard, American Express, and Discover). Students with access to MYCAT may take advantage of this payment method by logging on MYCAT.
You may receive details about this option by contacting the Controller's Office at (828) 227-7334.
