This M.A.Ed. degree program has options for teaching in secondary schools or in two-year colleges. Comprised of 30 to 35 semester hours, the program can be completed in two semesters and one summer term by full-time graduate students. The option for secondary school teaching leads to recommendation for a North Carolina advanced teaching license.

The job prospects are excellent both for employment at the secondary school level and at the two-year college level.

The program includes courses in adolescent development, advanced educational psychology, comparative education, computers in education, curriculum development, foundations of modern education, linear algebra, mathematics for secondary teachers, methods of research, modern geometry, philosophy of education, secondary school curriculum, statistical theory, survey of algebra, and survey of analysis.
