M.A.Ed. in Physical Education
The PE Program offers two M.A.Ed. degree programs: one in Comprehensive Physical Education and the other in Physical Education-Community College Teaching.
The Master of Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.) in Comprehensive Physical Education is designed for individuals with a teaching certificate that seek advance licensure in physical education. Pending satisfactory completion of state-required licensure examinations, the program leads to a recommendation for an advanced license from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

The Master of Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.) in Physical Education-Community College Teaching is designed for individuals seeking graduate training in order to teach physical education in community college settings and/or coach varsity sports in higher educational settings. This program also allows the student to choose an area of specialization (e.g., motor behavior, exercise physiology) for pursuing advanced degrees.
