A respectable characteristic of a well-rounded educator is world knowledge. Having an understanding of the world we live in and its cultures are the main objectives of Western's Teaching Fellows trip to Europe. Each year, the freshman class of Teaching Fellows is offered the opportunity to travel abroad. Trips are offered during the summer months and are 9-12 days in length. While the Europe trip is not a requirement, it is a valuable learning experience for Teaching Fellows and highly recommended.
Trip costs vary from year to year, but Western offers a special $1000 scholarship to aid in offsetting the cost of travel. Teaching Fellows have traveled to England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Monaco, and the Vatican City in previous years.
Every teacher deserves to be able to experience world culture, and this is our way of ensuring it; the Europe trip is one of the unique components of our Teaching Fellows Program.
