Service-Learning Awards
The Center for Service Learning organizes and hosts the annual Service-Learning Awards on the last Thursday of April. The event recognizes students, faculty and staff members, and community partners for outstanding participation and achievements. Major awards are presented in 10 categories. The Department of Social Work received the Leading Light Award for 2008. This award symbolizes the highest achievement among Western’s academic departments in integrating service learning into the curriculum. Dr. Marie Huff, then social work department head, accepted the award on April 24.
