WCU sets info session, registration for Asheville programs Aug. 14
8/8/2008 - Prospective students can learn about the 100 courses Western Carolina University will offer in Asheville this fall semester as the university holds an information session and registration from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14.

Hosted by WCU’s Programs in Asheville, the event will be held in Karpen Hall on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Advisers for graduate and undergraduate programs will be on hand to meet one-on-one with prospective students and answer questions.

The lineup of Asheville courses includes topics such as “Life Stages Business Planning,” “Management of International Operations,” “Biostatistics for Health Science,” “Earth Sciences,” “Poetry Writing,” “Foundation of English as a Second Language and Language Learning” and “Creating Positive Classrooms for Students with Disabilities.”

WCU’s graduate offerings in Asheville include more than 25 programs from the colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Construction Management and Technology, Education and Allied Professions, and Health and Human Sciences. Thirteen graduate and certificate programs are offered online.

Many of WCU’s graduate programs based in Asheville are still accepting applicants for the fall semester. Individuals interested in applying to the Graduate School should bring a transcript to the information session.

Classes begin Monday, Aug. 18.
